About this treatment
Clear aligners are a discreet, removable option for gradually moving teeth and improving certain alignment or bite concerns. Treatment uses a planned series of custom-made transparent aligners. Each aligner is worn for the recommended period before progressing to the next stage, gently guiding the teeth towards their planned positions. Before recommending treatment, your dentist will assess your teeth, gums and bite, discuss what you would like to achieve and confirm whether clear aligners are suitable for you. Some cases may be better treated with another orthodontic option or require referral for specialist advice. We will explain the proposed treatment, expected timescale, costs, possible limitations and the importance of wearing your aligners as instructed. Attachments or other supporting procedures may sometimes be required as part of treatment. Results and treatment times vary between patients. Retainers will usually be required after treatment to help maintain the new position of your teeth.
